Build the part everyone else avoids.
Luminai Tech Limited builds management software for property, schools, retail, gyms and campaigns, and LuminaiPay is the billing engine underneath all of it. It is unglamorous, exacting work, and it is the reason those products exist.
Four reasons this is different work.
The work is real
Money moves through what you write, for landlords, schools and gyms who notice immediately when it does not. There is no staging-only project here and nothing built to be demoed.
Small enough to see the whole thing
You will understand the system end to end — the billing engine, the gateway adapters, the portals — rather than one service behind three abstractions.
You answer for what you build
The team that maintains the platform is the team that answers integration questions. That is a promise we make to customers, which means support is part of engineering, not a department downstream of it.
Local rails, properly understood
Mobile money, paybill collections and card processors each behave differently under failure — timeouts that are not failures, callbacks that arrive twice, reversals that arrive late. Getting that right is most of the job and it is not something you learn from a textbook.
What the week actually looks like.
Nothing open right now.
We are not advertising a vacancy today.
That is the honest position rather than a list kept up for appearances. We do read open applications, and we keep the good ones on file — if what you build overlaps with billing, payments or the platforms above, write anyway.
Tell us what you have built, what you want to work on next, and link to something real. A short note beats a long one.
Send an open applicationWhat happens after you write.
You write to us
A short note about what you have built and what you want to work on, with a CV or a link to your work. No cover letter theatre.
A conversation
One call with the people you would actually work with, about your experience and about what we are building. You get to ask as much as we do.
Something practical
A problem close to the real work, scoped to a few hours and discussed afterwards rather than graded. We do not set unpaid multi-day projects.
A decision, either way
We tell you where you stand and why. If it is a no, you hear that too, rather than nothing.
Applications are personal data. We keep unsuccessful ones for six months unless you ask us to hold your details longer — see the privacy policy.
